Poetry Analysis

Solitude by Ella Wheeler Wilcox is a poem about depression. It is explaining how people take from others what they want or need but in return don't give back to that person. They make the narrator feel like they do not matter, and that they are always used by others. It seems like everyone's happiness always comes first.

April Love by Ernest Dowson is a poem about a love that doesn't last. It describes a relationship between two people and the narrator is the one who knows that this love is coming to an end. Though they had a good time together and loved each other it is no longer enough.
